Drum Screen PROMEL: fine filtration from 0.8 to 3 mm

The PROMEL model is an internally fed rotary drum screen designed for the mechanical pretreatment of wastewater. Specifically engineered for liquid-solid separation, it provides fine and precise filtration to protect your treatment facilities.

What is a rotary drum screen?

A rotary drum screen is a mechanical filtration equipment designed for continuous liquid-solid separation. Used for the pre-treatment of urban wastewater or industrial effluents, it captures fine particles and suspended solids (SS) that are not removed by simple screening.

The operation of the PROMEL model is based on a rotating filter drum: the effluent passes through the screen (the mesh of which varies according to the fine filtration requirements), while solid waste is captured on the surface and then automatically discharged by a washing system. This technology guarantees continuous self-cleaning, ensuring a constant flow rate and reduced maintenance.

A robust stainless steel design for pretreatment

The PROMEL model is an internally fed drum screen designed to ensure efficient liquid-solid separation. Entirely manufactured in 304L or 316L stainless steel, it guarantees optimal resistance in the most demanding environments.

  • Maximum flow rate: Up to 100 m³/h.
  • Filtration mesh: From 0.8 to 3.0 mm for increased precision.
  • High-performance drum: Diameter from 400 to 640 mm with a 5° inclination.

A self-cleaning rotation operating principle

The effluent enters the drum where the water passes through the perforated plate while the waste is retained.

  • Waste transfer: An internal screw flight directs the solids toward the discharge hopper by rotation.
  • Anti-clogging system: A rotary brush and a spray bar (flow rate 27 L/min at 4 bar) ensure continuous cleanliness of the drum.
  • Reliable motorization: Equipped with a NORD gear motor from 0.25 to 0.75 kW.

Simplified and secure maintenance

The PROMEL has been designed to reduce downtime thanks to optimized ergonomics:

  • Full access: Hinged top cover and removable side panels with 1/4-turn key.
  • Intuitive control: Control box with "forward-reverse" functions, "forced rinse", and emergency stop.
  • Maximum safety: Safety switches connected to the cover and the hopper.

Options and modularity for your installations

To adapt to your configuration, FB Procédés offers various options:

  • Overflow protection in case of accidental clogging.
  • Frame with adjustable support legs for perfect leveling.
  • Possibility of direct coupling with our screw compactors or presses.
  • Extensions, adaptation chutes, and custom-made electrical control panels.
  • Bypass with metal channel equipped with a manual screen.
