1985 - The invention
Fernand Barré, founder of FB Procédés Artisan, invented the gravity-operated automatic vertical Bar Screen. Ahead of its time, this Bar Screen was named the NG vertical Bar Screen. It has since contributed greatly to our company’s reputation and is still part of our Bar Screen range today.
1991 – The handover
The time came for Fernand Barré to retire. He passed on his expertise to Patrick Dupré, a former methods technician at Worthington in Nantes, who bought the company and founded FB Procédés SARL.
1993 – Growth
Robert Lobréau, a former engineer at ACB Alstom, took over as head of the company’s technical department. A genuine research and development effort was then undertaken to expand our product range.
1997 – Launch of the SG400 Bar Screen
In response to recurring requests from many plant operators looking for a screening solution for wastewater treatment plants of 6,500 PE or less, we launched an alternative to the NG Bar Screen. This is how the SG400 vertical Bar Screen came into being, inspired by the NG Bar Screen technology. Meeting their needs precisely, the SG400 was an immediate success with plant operators.
2003 – Launch of the XG Bar Screen
When we were consulted to supply Bar Screens discharging waste downstream – at the time, our range was limited to Bar Screens with upstream discharge – we decided to launch the new XG vertical Bar Screen.
2006 – Launch of the VTP and VCP screws
We launched our own range of VTP screw conveyors and VCP compaction screws in response to growing demand. Today, one in three Bar Screens is paired with a screw.
2010 – Export growth
Although we were already present in several countries, we launched a genuine export sales drive for our Bar Screens by setting up a dedicated department.
2012 – Launch of the SI350 Bar Screen
Specially designed for wastewater treatment plants of 3,000 PE or less, the SI350 Bar Screen completes our range and allows us to optimise our offers for this type of installation.
2016 – Morocco and Spain
Committed to offering the same follow-up and responsiveness as in France, we opened offices in Casablanca and Barcelona. This allows us to stay as close as possible to our customers.
2017 – Launch of the PROSTEP Bar Screen
Long regarded as the specialists in vertical screening, we took up the challenge set by several of our loyal customers: to design a so-called Step Screen. This is how the PROSTEP Step Screen came out of our workshops, and it has been fully satisfying our customers ever since.
2023 – Guillaume Dupré takes the helm
Having joined the FB Procédés team in February 2014, Guillaume initially held the position of Sales Director. He became Managing Director of the company in 2015, ahead of his father Patrick Dupré’s retirement in 2018. In June 2023, Guillaume completed the buyout of FB Procédés and became its sole shareholder.
2024 – Launch of the PROPRESS wash press
Waste treatment has become a real problem for many municipalities and urban areas. To meet our customers’ needs, we designed the PROPRESS wash press, which not only reduces the volume of waste but also achieves a dry solids content of over 50%.
Today
With more than 7,000 units bar screens in operation in more than 60 countries, it FB Procédés has managed to convince, gain the trust of its customers and retain them. Our daily motto: to be responsive, attentive, and able to advise, to know how to meet customer requests and, above all, to offer simple and high-quality products.
