Bar Screen for unloading station

Unloading station bar screens ensure the effective separation of solid waste during emptying operations, protecting downstream equipment and guaranteeing clean, safe, and compliant operating conditions.

Septage unloading stations are mostly sensitive cases because they are often different in terms of their configuration and very strained in terms of use. Consequently, the design of the civil engineering, the receiving structure for the bar screen, and even the choice of upstream equipment prove to be of the utmost importance.

Depending on the types of materials unloaded, the daily volumes to be treated, or the desired bar spacing, we will offer you different types of bar screens that will satisfy your needs.

Bar screen installed on an unloading station for the separation of solid waste

An NG11 type automatic bar screen installed on an unloading manhole where effluents and waste from pumping tanks or static screens on the network are discharged via tanker trucks. The bar screen is equipped with a 12mm bar spacing screen and a wash spray bar located downstream of the screen. This spray bar allows for the cleaning of the screen and the pulverization of certain types of waste. Finally, two VTP200 type transport screws evacuate the screenings to the desired area, specifically 5 meters in front of the bar screen.

Bar screen in operation on an unloading station during emptying operations

An SG400 type vertical automatic bar screen installed in a metallic box of FB Procédés design. It is located on an unloading area for restaurant effluents, loaded with grease, wipes, napkins, etc. The trucks connect to the "Storz" (pompier) coupling located upstream of the box and discharge the effluent. The bar screen, with its 10mm bar spacing, extracts a large portion of the waste which, through the adapted discharge hopper, is dropped into a waste bin positioned on the side of the metallic box. In case of issues with the bar screen, the box includes a bypass overflow.

Unloading station bar screen ensuring the retention of macro-waste

On this unloading site, we replaced a manual screen with an NG11 type automatic bar screen to treat the effluent from one 10 m3 truck per day. The screenings consist of grease, wipes, stones, etc. The bar screen, with its 10mm bar spacing, is installed at the outlet of the concrete manhole, thus allowing for a significant buffer volume upstream. A deflector of our supply, positioned across the manhole, channels the effluent toward the bar screen (lateral feed). The screenings are then discharged outside the manhole into a waste bin.

Application of a bar screen at an unloading station in a wastewater treatment plant or industrial site.

An XG12 type automatic bar screen, with 10mm bar spacing, installed on an unloading station. The electrical control panel of FB Procédés design—fixed to the side of the bar screen—integrates a variable speed drive to optimize the cycle duration (one descent and one ascent of the grab). This is fundamental for this application, as is a significant buffer volume upstream of the bar screen. A VCP200 type screw compactor reduces the volume of the removed waste and discharges it into a bin positioned on the side of the channel.
