Evolution of FB Procédés products over the years

Our history

1985 – The invention

Fernand Barré, founder of FB Procédés Artisan, invented the vertical automatic gravity-operated Bar Screen. Ahead of its time, this Bar Screen was named the NG-type vertical Bar Screen. It has since greatly contributed to the reputation of our company and is still part of our Bar Screen range today.

1991 – The transfer

The time for retirement had come for Fernand Barré. He passed on his know-how to Patrick Dupré, former methods engineer at Worthington in Nantes. The latter took over the company and founded FB Procédés SARL.

1993 – Development

Robert Lobréau, former engineer at ACB Alstom, took over the management of the company’s technical department. A genuine research and development approach was then implemented to expand our product range.

1997 – Creation of the SG400-type Bar Screen

In response to repeated requests from many operators seeking a screening solution for wastewater treatment plants up to 6,500 PE, we launched an alternative to the NG-type Bar Screen. This led to the creation of the SG400 vertical Bar Screen, inspired by the NG-type Bar Screen technology. Precisely meeting their needs, the SG400 achieved immediate success with operators.

2003 – Creation of the XG-type Bar Screen

When consulted for the supply of Bar Screens with downstream screenings discharge — while our range at the time was limited to Bar Screens with upstream discharge — we decided to launch the new XG-type vertical Bar Screen.

2006 – Creation of VTP and VCP screw conveyors

We launched our own range of VTP-type screw conveyors and VCP-type compaction screws, in response to the growing number of requests. Today, one Bar Screen out of three is combined with a screw.

2010 – Export development

Although already present in several countries, we undertook a structured approach to the international marketing of our Bar Screens by creating a dedicated export department.

2012 – Creation of the SI350-type Bar Screen

Specifically designed for wastewater treatment plants of up to 3,000 PE, the SI350-type Bar Screen completes our range and allows us to optimize our offers for this type of installation.

2016 – Morocco and Spain

Keen to provide the same level of support and responsiveness as in France, we opened offices in Casablanca and Barcelona. This decision allows us to be as close as possible to our customers.

2017 – Creation of the PROSTEP-type Bar Screen

Having been recognized for many years as specialists in vertical Bar Screening, we took up the challenge set by several of our long-standing customers: to design a so-called “step” Bar Screen. This led to the development of the PROSTEP-type Bar Screen, which has since left our workshops and has been fully satisfying operators.

2023 – Guillaume Dupré takes the helm

Having joined FB Procédés in February 2014, Guillaume initially held the position of Sales Director. In 2015, he became Managing Director of the company, ahead of the retirement of his father, Patrick Dupré, in 2018. In June 2023, Guillaume definitively acquired FB Procédés and became its sole shareholder.

2024 – Creation of the PROPRESS-type Wash Press

Waste treatment has become a real challenge for many municipalities and urban areas. In order to align with our customers’ needs, we designed the PROPRESS-type Wash Press, which reduces waste volume while achieving a dry solids content of over 50%.
