Replacing a bar screen curve

The replacement of a bar screen curve allows the modernization of existing installations, improves the reliability of the grating and reduces operating constraints while adapting to existing structures.

We are regularly consulted for the renewal of bar screens curves. In fact, they are often difficult to replace for several reasons:

Discharge at the tail end
Low water level due to the shape of the grate
Implantation in an air canal
Discharge of effluents sometimes under the guardrail
Disposal of waste downstream at the level of the laying plan in horizontal or vertical trenches.
 
Nevertheless, we can often present an interesting alternative to the bar screen curve that facilitates the operation of the bar screen, as evidenced by the photos below.

Existing context: an HS bar screen curve installed in a channel at height; the effluent arrives by backflow; the refuse is discharged into a gutter downstream; the operator must periodically remove the waste with a rake to deposit it in the bin located at the «Natural Terrain» level.

Our solution: a SG400 bar screen type, oriented at 90° relative to the inflow of the effluent, mounted against one of the canal walls. The effluent is channelled towards the side of the via bar screen through an INOX deflector supplied by us. The debris is thus discharged into a bin placed at the «Natural Terrain» level.

The gains for the operator:

  • The east bar screen is entirely wooded and therefore safe.
  • Cleaner installation: no more traces of waste on the civil engineering site.
  • Unlike in the previous context, the waste is directly deposited in the trash can. The operator no longer has to do it.
  • In the event of a power failure, and in the event of the grille becoming clogged, the deflector acts as a bypass. The effluent therefore has an escape route, which is fundamental. It did not exist before.
