Bar Screen installations
Each project presents specific constraints: hydraulic, civil engineering, operation, maintenance, safety, or scalability. That is why FB PROCÉDÉS supports its customers from the design phase onward in order to define the most appropriate installation, whether in a pumping station or in a channel.
The installation of equipment is a decisive step in the performance, reliability, and durability of a treatment facility. Depending on site configuration, hydraulic constraints, and operational objectives, two main installation solutions are possible: installation in a pumping station and installation in a channel.
FB PROCÉDÉS designs and supplies solutions perfectly adapted to each configuration, integrating operational, maintenance, and safety constraints from the study phase onward.
Installation of a Bar Screen in a channel
Principle
The automatic Bar Screen is installed across the effluent, with upstream or downstream discharge depending on the model.
Depending on the flow rate and technical specifications, the Bar Screen may either span the full width of the channel or have a smaller width, in which case a side deflector is installed.
The Bar Screen is fixed at two points:
- At the bottom of the upper section, on top of the channel walls, by chemical anchoring.
- At the lower section, at the level of the approach channel inlet, fixed to the channel walls by mechanical anchoring.
For installation in existing civil works—whether for a first installation or to replace an existing Bar Screen—FB Procédés Bar Screens are designed to perfectly adapt to the existing structures, thereby avoiding any modification to the civil works.
Installation of a Bar Screen in a straight or circular pumping station
Principle
The main advantage of FB Procédés vertical Bar Screens is that they take up very little space. This feature makes our Bar Screens the best solution for installation in a straight or circular station.
The bar screen in a straight or circular station is custom-designed according to the depth of the water line and the diameter of the station. The bar screen is then simply attached to the wall of the station.
This configuration minimises the space taken up by the bar screen, leaving enough room to access the station, which is particularly useful for a lifting station, in order to be able to access the pumps easily and safely.
The Bar Screen is fixed at two points:
- at the bottom of the upper part, on top of the station using chemical anchoring
- at the bottom against the wall of the station using mechanical anchoring
